Start with the fixture, not the club’s reputation

Select the intended home and away teams and check the fixture date. A recognisable club name can encourage assumptions based on an earlier season. Read the actual recent sample and its opponents instead. If league and cup games appear together in the history, consider that context when interpreting the team’s recent results.

  • Confirm the senior club and home–away order.
  • Check when each result was played.
  • Notice whether recent opponents and competitions differ.

Keep league position and match probability separate

A league table summarises points already earned. A match forecast concerns one opponent at one venue. Games in hand, the stage of the season and the remaining schedule can also affect comparisons between clubs. Use a season forecast for longer-term questions and a match report for a specific fixture; the two tools answer different questions.

Test a precise goal or result condition

“A high-scoring game” is too broad to compare consistently. Choose a specific line, such as over 2.5 goals, and inspect its probability and data quality. In My Strategy, select the English Premier League and your search window. You can combine a goal condition with one match result in All mode if the outcomes are compatible.

  • Use one clear market definition across the matches you compare.
  • Keep individual outcome percentages separate from any combined expectation.
  • Read the reason when a scheduled fixture does not qualify.

Check what has changed near kick-off

Recent news can add context about availability, but news coverage may be incomplete and a report may predate the final line-up. Check the update information before treating an earlier analysis as current. A postponed fixture or changed source record can also affect the report. Refreshing is useful when inputs change, not as a way to force a preferred prediction.

Common questions

Are these today’s Premier League predictions?

No. This is an explanation of the analysis process. Use the application to inspect available fixtures and current calculations.

Does every scheduled Premier League game have an analysis?

A schedule entry alone is insufficient. The selected teams need suitable recent data and a successful calculation.
