Match Analysis
Football match analysis: form, goals and probabilities.
A useful match report starts with the right teams and a reliable history. Vertex Soccer AI brings those inputs together with model estimates and available match context, so you can examine the evidence behind an outcome.

Choose the right teams
Enter the home and away teams in their intended order. Team search recognises many English, Russian and Spanish names. A name can still belong to several clubs or contain a spelling that needs clarification. When alternatives appear, compare the country and competition before confirming a team.
- Check the complete club name, especially for reserve or youth teams.
- Confirm the home–away order before reading result markets.
- Use the suggested club when it matches your intended fixture.
Read form and context together
The calculation uses verified recent results where available. Look at the size and freshness of each team’s sample: a long list of old matches can be less relevant than a smaller recent sample. Team news and additional context depend on source coverage; an empty news section does not establish that the squad has no absences.
Interpret the exact market
A home-win estimate and an over-2.5-goals estimate answer different questions. Read the outcome and line beside each probability. A high percentage is the model’s assessment of that outcome, while the data-quality indicator concerns the inputs. Neither metric should be substituted for the other.
- Compare like-for-like markets and lines.
- Check source limitations before relying on a ranking.
- Keep individual outcome probabilities separate from combined-outcome probabilities.
Compare over/under goals and both teams to score
Over 2.5 goals means at least three goals in total; under 2.5 means zero, one or two. Both teams to score (BTTS) asks whether each side scores at least once. A hypothetical 1–1 qualifies for BTTS Yes and under 2.5 goals. A 3–0 score qualifies for over 2.5 goals and BTTS No. These examples explain the definitions; they are not forecasts for real fixtures.
Check the line and match period shown in the report before comparing probabilities. Separate BTTS and goal-total estimates cannot be multiplied to obtain a supported combined probability. Use My Strategy to filter fixtures by the individual conditions you want to inspect.
Understand an unavailable calculation
An unresolved team, insufficient recent history or an unavailable source can prevent a supported calculation. The report should explain the limitation instead of filling the gap with an invented forecast. Correct an ambiguous name or retry after source recovery; repeatedly changing the spelling cannot repair missing historical results.

Common questions
Why does a Russian name sometimes need confirmation?
Transliteration, local names and similarly named clubs can create ambiguity. Confirmation helps keep the analysis attached to the intended team.
Will the same match have a different model in My Strategy?
Both tools use the common analysis engine. Strategy selection adds filters, and a later calculation can change when its underlying data is refreshed.
Can both teams to score and over 2.5 goals have different probabilities?
Yes. BTTS requires each team to score, while over 2.5 requires at least three goals in total. A 1–1 score and a 3–0 score show why the two events differ. Read each estimate with its own market definition.
